They are divided into age groups 0 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 and prizes are awarded for First, Second and Third places. The event is sponsored by the Central Linn Recreation Association.

Dressed in period costumes, local actors take on the personalities of well-known historical characters. Visitors ride in a horse-drawn carriage from the Linn County Historical Museum to the 1881 Moyer House enjoying reenactments at stops along the way. June and July - start at 6 pm; August - start at 5 pm; September - start at 4 pm Calapooia Croquet Court Accept this invitation to experience the sedate, but intensely earnest Victorian battle of the wicket, the ball, and the mallet. Everyone is welcome and all equipment is provided. Membership is $25 per person 18 and over. Drop in fee is $5 per evening; after paying 5 drop-in fees an individual is then a member. The first Picnic consisted of a reunion of Oregon Trail pioneers in 1887. With the passing of time and the pioneers, the Picnic changed to include other entertainment and activities.  | | July 4th, 2012 - all day Fourth of July breakfast and fireworks Fourth of July in Brownsville is all you imagine a summer holiday in rural America to be. The morning begins at 7am. with a pancake breakfast at the pavilion in Pioneer Park until 10am. Pancakes, eggs, ham, syrup, hot coffee, all served with the entertaining antics of the volunteer fireman pancake flippers and the dancin' grooves of the serving chicks. $7 for adults, $4 for kids 10 and under.
Many people spend the day in the park anticipating the fireworks display put on by the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department. Bring your change as the boot is passed and help us continue a wonderful tradition. Pre-fireworks Barbeque and Live Music at Randy's Main Street Coffee, starting at 5:30pm. On the grill: Chicken meal $9; hamburger meal $8; hot dog meal $7 - includes music which begins at 6:00pm.

All of the usual garage sale items can be found throughout the city as well as some unusual items and a treasure with your name on it! Garage sale maps will also be available in town.

Saturday is devoted to the CLOUT and WAND shoots which originated in England as a part of medieval military strategies when castles were attacked.  | | Saturday, November 3, 2012, 12—2 p.m. Tea to Benefit the Moyer House The Moyer House Benefit Tea will be held on Saturday, November 5 from noon to 2:00 pm at the Teen Challenge Center (formally the Shedd Elementary School), 31700 Fayetteville Drive. Go west at the former Shedd Methodist Church even though a sign says "Road Closed for bridge repair."
The afternoon tea will be catered by Teen Challenge and will be served at beautifully decorated tables by volunteer hosts and hostesses. The program will include music by a local group, a presentation of the history of the Moyer House and its restoration, a silent auction, plus special raffles.
Proceeds go to the Moyer House Restoration Fund and will be used for restoration projects at the 1881 Moyer House in Brownsville. The house is part of the Linn County Historical Museum, so it benefits the whole county as well as surrounding areas. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance. They will be available at Key Bank in Brownsville, from table hosts/hostesses, or by contacting Myrna Baughman, at the Linn County Historical Museum, at 541-466-3390.

 | | Thursday, Nov. 29 thru Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 Home for the Holidays Festival of Trees and Holiday Events During the Festival of Trees, Christmas trees are decorated and auctioned off as a fundraiser for the Chamber. This year, the trees will be placed throughout the businesses in downtown Brownsville, to promote our local businesses and create a more festive atmosphere.
Trees will be installed and the decorating will begin on Thursday, Dec. 1. The trees will stay up until Saturday, Dec. 10, when the silent auction ends. The Chamber is working on organizing a variety of activities during this time and will provide more details as the dates draw nearer.
