The Brownsville Times was originally founded in 1889 as the community newspaper for Brownsville and the surrounding area. After many decades in print and a short period of dormancy, the paper was revived in 2025 to once again serve Central Linn, including Brownsville, Halsey, Shedd, Tangent, and Crawfordsville. Today it provides local news, features, history, and events in both print and digital formats, keeping residents connected while preserving the region’s proud heritage.
